Surface Preparation
- All substrates, including steel and concrete, were abrasive grit blasted to remove contaminants and create a clean surface for the repair materials to adhere to.
- Any remaining contaminants were "sweated" from the surface using appropriate cleaning techniques.
Concrete Repaired with UPS 920 FFS FASTFILL SCREED
- Damaged sections of concrete were rebuilt using UPS 920 FFS, restoring the integrity of the degraded areas and providing a solid foundation for the protective coating.
Priming with UPS 905 DP DAMP PRIMER
- Due to the high moisture content in the substrate, the porous surfaces were primed with UPS 905 DP. This primer ensured proper adhesion of the subsequent protective coating, even in damp conditions.
Application of UPS405 EPC EPOXY PROTECTIVE COATING
- The entire substrate was coated with two layers of UPS 405 EPC, each applied at a nominal thickness of 250 microns. This dual-coat system provided robust protection against future corrosion, ensuring the long-term durability of the repaired areas.
