Removal of Damaged Gasket
- The existing damaged gasket was removed, and the steel substrate of the valve was prepared using the UPS MINI-BLASTER to create a clean surface for the new gasket.
Surface Preparation
- The inner rim of the valve was primed with UPS 366 P PRIMER to ensure optimal adhesion of the repair material.
- The mating gate valve surface was treated with UPS RELEASE AGENT, which would prevent the new gasket from adhering to the valve, allowing it to open and close smoothly.
Application of UPS 365 RR RUBBER REPAIR 60
- UPS 365 RR was applied to the primed inner rim at a nominal thickness of 4mm. The valve was then closed to ensure that an effective seal was created.
- Once the material cured, the gate valve could be opened and released from the new gasket, thanks to the prior application of the release agent.
