Surface Preparation
- The diesel tanks were removed from the area, and the concrete base was inspected to ensure it was free of contaminants. The surface was then abraded using mechanical hand tools to create a suitable profile for the primer.
Application of UPS 905 DP DAMP PRIMER
- The prepared surface was primed with one coat of UPS 905 DP, applied by brush and roller at a wet film thickness of 150 microns. This primer provided a strong base for the subsequent protective coating.
Application of UPS 405 EPC EPOXY PROTECTIVE COATING
- The primed surface was then over-coated with two coats of UPS 405 EPC, each applied by brush and roller at a thickness of 250 microns per coat. The system was allowed to fully cure for five days before the diesel storage tanks were replaced, ensuring the coating's effectiveness.
