Problem

Severe abrasion of CAST IRON pipes by coal dust at a coal-fired Power Station in the Netherlands.

The cast iron pipes carrying the coal dust were BADLY DAMAGED AND ABRADED by this arduous application.
In the past Advanced Polymer GEL CERAMIC PLUS SILICON CARBIDE were applied to repair such damage and Advanced Polymer FLUID CERAMIC applied to provide future PROTECTION. However, in some areas of this piping the damage was SO EXTREME that ADDED PROTECTION MECHANISMS ARE REQUIRED.

 

Solution

To combat this, CERAMIC TILES were laid OVER the damaged areas - where Advanced Polymer GEL CERAMIC was used as the ADHESIVE to attach the tiles to the INSIDE of this pipework.
The surface was prepared by GRIT BLASTING - followed QUICKLY (within one hour) by a solvent wipe (ADVANCED POLYMER CLEAN AID).

The whole repair was then COATED with Advanced Polymer FLUID CERAMIC protect against further damage.
