Problem

Aluminum trailer moving ZINC/LEAD concentrates from mining establishment to storage.
Retention of product (up to 30%) and corrosion/erosion of Aluminum surface.

 

 
Solution

Application of Advanced Polymer SUPERBARRIER to bottom and side walls.
Application of Advanced Polymer SUPERCLADDING to trailer containment lid.

 
APPLICATION METHOD:

Trailer was allowed to stand for further 7 days before being put into operation

 
RESULT:

No retention of product and no corrosion/erosion of Aluminum trailer. Immense time and financial savings experienced  by the company.
Added benefits in Health & Safety as vehicle operator not having to physically remove retained product from trailer whilst tipping taking place.

End-User comments:
Trailer was reintroduced into operation loading and discharging LEAD/ZINC concentrates form local mining establishment.
Operator of trailer expressed great surprise at how well the product discharged, with no sticking, juddering; product discharged at lower degree of tip, enhancing trailer stability. Product discharged on fourth degree stage on ram. 99.9% of product is discharged.

Trailer carried LEAD/ZINC concentrate without any cleaning, so interchangeability of product was achieved. The trailer operated for 4 weeks without further checks except for driver recording the daily performance of product discharge, with no reported problems.

The trailer was bought in for washing using a high power, hot wash, and soft brush to remove fines.

We concluded on examination of friction paths on trailer that the ADVANCED POLYMER will be TOUGH - LONG LASTING - EASY TO MAINTAIN.
