1.Remove all old packing, clean out entire stuffing box area, clean and inspect gland follower.

2. Use Dial indicators or other device to check alignment of shaft. If not centred, stop and correct.

3. Remove water flush line, plug port and remove flush valve handle.

4. Remove the NEW NO FLUSH WATERLESS packing set from wrapping and place parts in order, on clean surface.

5. Twist the wedge set partly open and mount on shaft. NOTE Male or CONE half mounts first, then Female. Push the wedge set to the bottom of stuffing box as a unit.

6. Install the packing rings in the order as supplied. Stagger the joints in the rings 900, pushing each ring in place with tool or gland follower.

7. When all rings in place, the end (or last) ring should be about one packing cross section below the stuffing box surface.

8. Install gland washer between end ring and gland follower. This is essential if front (mating surface with the packing) of the gland is worn or loose fitting.

9. Tighten the gland follower nuts until some resistance is felt, turn the pump/motor coupling, continue to tighten nuts until some drag is felt when attempting to turn the coupling.

10. Confirm the fact that NO ONE CAN TURN ON OR ADD FLUSH WATER to the packing.

11. Should the packing leak more than desired rate - up to and including DRY - adjust the gland follower accordingly.
